It is with great sadness the Old Strathcona Business Association (OSBA) announces the 2012 SOS Music Festival will not occur this year. Over the past two years the OSBA has been managing and funding the majority of the SOS Music Festival in hopes that a partnering organization or group would take the lead on this exciting project. Currently we have been unable to pass it on. With that said, the Old Strathcona Business Association and community are still dedicated to fostering a creative and vibrant environment for music and its industry.

Do you have a passion for music? Do you have the skills to produce a world class event? Do you think Old Strathcona’s Music Industry is vibrant and worth featuring?

If you or your organization is interested in producing the SOS Music Festival we would love to hear from you. sosfest_logoThe Old Strathcona Business Association (OSBA) is proud to present the second annual SOS Fest this summer. Whyte Avenue will again be alive with the sound of music as The OSBA shines a spotlight on the avenue, and Edmonton as whole, as an excellent, exciting, eclectic, entertainment destination location.

The Sunday Street Fest last year was really the exclamation mark of the weekend, so it was obvious this tradition should hold forth. So, The SOS Fest was condensed to the Sunday for this year. There’ll be dancing in the streets. Vendors of all types will be there, plus lots of family activities for kids of all ages.

Sunday, July 10 Whyte Ave will be closed off from 12noon to 7:00 pm, from 103 Street to 105 Street, with stages bookending the street fair. Performers takin’ it to the streets this year on the two stages will be Gobble Gobble, Little Miss Higgins, Luke & Tess Pretty, Peter Elkas, Scenic Route To Alaska, The Dudes, The Heartbroken, The Pack a.d. and Wool On Wolves.

You can't beat the street and this July 10 that will be where it’s at, for more info go siteseeing at www.sosfest.ca.

The SOS Fest is supported by the Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton.
